Priority Claim allows you to use the filing date of a previously filed trademark application in another country as the filing date for this application. To be eligible, the previously filed trademark application must be for the same trademark and have been filed within the last 6 months. If you select Priority Claim, we will request the details of the foreign application after you fill this form. Please note that the trademark applications must be identical in order to claim priority.

Power of Attorney (POA)

The Trademark Office of Nigeria requests that attorneys provide a signed Power of Attorney (POA) to file a trademark on behalf of their clients. This POA should be signed by the owner (or the legal representative) of the trademark. We will send you the POA template with instructions as soon as you have placed your order. Please note that in Nigeria, the POA does not need to be notarized. We need your decision on how we should file your trademark application:
Normal Filing of POA: You want us to hold the application filing until we receive the Power of Attorney.
Late Filing of POA: You want us to immediately file your trademark. Please note that there’s an additional charge for this option, and a of 30 to send the Power of Attorney.
